Hello friends, this cake recipe is from Goa,unlike most of the cake recipes it,s . at all overloaded with Calories.  It is one of the healthiest dessert . It shows the Konkani cuisene mixed sweetly with Portugal  and serves us a sweet delicacy,which I m presenting you today. It is also known as Dhondas/ Tavsale/kakdiche Sandane.

Healthy and Tasty: Goa have it,s own food culture,sea food,. beaches ,coconut and healthy food..that,s a wonderful combination.People of Goa prefer Traditional konkani cuisine which have a great effect of portugese preperations... Today,s recipes is one of them....Dhondas.. it is also prepared with Jackfruit, but today i am sharing with big cucumber,which is speciality of Western coastal region of India. In Goa it is known as Tavsale,,,so when this recipe is prepared by monsoon big cucumber instead of jackfruit, it is known as Tavsale [ Not DHONDAS] .Recipe is same for Dhondas and Tavsale both.

Healthy and Tasty: You can make it in pressure cooker as we make cake in cooker or even steam it...both the ways are traditional and Dhondas/Tavsale tastes awesome in both the ways... In Goa they have wonderful traditional types of bakeries which offer this wonderfully baked traditional  cucumber cake..Tavsale.

Full of Nutrients and easy to DIGEST:   Today I am sharing this recipe. LET ME KNOW in comment section and please try this awesome recipe for a better option of dessert. Our country is full of  health  recipes.  So eat right.

For this recipe we can take Normal /Regular cucumbers, but monsoon cucumbers are not bitter ,regular cucumbers may have a bitter taste, which we need to remove before starting the recipe.
1] We need 1 cup of cucumber peeled and grated, it will leave cucumber juice, . keep cucumber juice aside because we need it for cake. 2] Now take 1 cup of roasted semolina/ rava/suji  3]. mix cucumber and rava in a bowl  AND ,add Jaggery [1/2  cup], Instead of jaggery you can take honey i/2 cups]  4]  add a pinch of Salt to enhance the taste....leave it for 15 to 20 minutes.5] ..mix it properly, 6] Now add roasted chashew nuts, powdered cardamom and nutmeg. 7]  At this stage you can add  A PINCH OF BAKINF SODA/ ENO FRUIT SALT... [optional]   But it gives the cake effect in.    Dhondas/Tavsale.8]   Grease and line the cake tin with butter or pure ghee. 9] Now bake for 30 MIN.  cut it in  pieces ...Your GOLDEN CAKE is  ready Eat thoroughly, joyfully and eat for satisfaction.
